Obituary of Rosetta N. Ziegler

Rosetta N. Ziegler, age 90, of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away Tuesday, July 21, 2020 at Aspirus Riverview Hospital in Wisconsin Rapids. Services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Rapids. Rev. Jonathan Petzold will officiate. Burial will be at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. A time of visitation for relatives and friends will be held from 4:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. on Monday, July 27 at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids and from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service on Tuesday at the church. Out of concern for public health and safety, cloth face masks will be required and social distancing measures enforced for both the visitation at the funeral home and visitation and service at the church. Rosetta was born May 13, 1930 in Stevens Point, WI to Frank and Nila (Grant) Boettcher. She was united in marriage to Donald McMiller and was blessed with four children: Bruce, Gail, Jeffrey, and Jason. She became a widow at a young age when Donald passed away in 1962. She was blessed to find love again when she and Earl Ziegler married following the passing of his spouse. Earl and Rosetta were married on July 12, 1987 in Wisconsin Rapids. Their union was a blessing for both the Ziegler and McMiller families. Rosetta was a multi lines insurance agent for CUNA Mutual Insurance at the Bull’s Eye Credit Union Insurance Center in Wisconsin Rapids for many years. Rosetta was an avid outdoorswoman and loved to deer hunt and fish, especially for muskies. She also enjoyed crocheting, knitting and crafting. She was an avid reader and a faithful member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. Rosetta and her family enjoyed going to Camp Luther and went every August for over 30 years. She and Earl spent 16 years traveling and wintering in Texas and Arizona. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be dearly missed. Rosetta is survived by her husband, Earl; two sons, Jeffrey (Deanna) McMiller and Jason McMiller of Wisconsin Rapids; daughter, Gail (Boyd) Jordan of Sarasota, FL; two step-daughters, Diane (Keith) LaBlaine of Neenah and Dawn Zellner of Wisconsin Rapids; daughter-in-law, Debra McMiller of Wisconsin Rapids; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and three sisters: Elsie Callows, Elizabeth Weiss, and Joyce (Jere) Kester. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald McMiller; son, Bruce McMiller;brother, Frank “Bud” Boettcher; and great-granddaughter, Isla Spehert. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated to Aspirus Riverview UW Cancer Center or Immanuel Lutheran Church and School. The family would like to thank the staff at Wisconsin Rapids Health Care for all of the care they provided during Rosetta’s ten years as a resident and also the staff at Aspirus Riverview Hospital for the care they provided in her final days.
