William Risinger

William "Bill" Risinger passed away peacefully Monday January 22, 2024. He was 92 years old.

He grew up in Madison, WI in a very impoverished family. He displayed a high academic aptitude in grade school and was fortunate that those observing him encouraged him and helped him to be placed at Wisconsin High, a high school on the UW Madison Campus. Here he furthered his academic knowledge which prepared him for training as an Electronics Technician in the Navy where he served for 4 years during the Korean War. After an honorable discharge he earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering from UW-Madison.

He enjoyed a life-long career as an engineer for Consoweld and Consolidated Papers. He enjoyed camping, fishing, golf, sailing, and construction projects. During his family raising years, he was a Scout Leader at St. Vincent De Paul church and served on the Rapids Sewage Commission. In retirement, he enjoyed raising funds for the local Humane Society by constructing cat towers for auction.

He is survived by five children Dave (Janet), Barb VanDreese (Dave), Mary Bryant (Robert), Lisa Patterson (Tom), Connie Wall (Mark) and many grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter Donna.

He requested no visitation or funeral services.
