William H. Peters (1935-2025)
The good Lord called William home to join his wife Mary on January 3, 2025. He departed peacefully with his two daughters by his side.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, January 17, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the Herman-Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids. Burial will be at St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery in Seneca Corners. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
William “Bill” Peters was born on July 31, 1935, to George and Elsie (Younger) Peters. He married Mary Chapman on January 10, 1956. They lived on their Vesper Farm where they raised their three children, herefords and horses. Bill was devoted to family and faith, being a lifelong member of St. Paul’s Church on Seneca Corners. Bill worked for Consolidated Papers for 41 years. Upon retiring in 1994, he and the family went to the woods, cutting down pine to build their dream retirement home.
Bill is survived by his two daughters, Linda (Allan) Peters Baumann and Sandra Peters both of Vesper; a grandson and two great grandchildren; his brother, Reuben and his sisters, Elizabeth and Wilma. Bill was preceded in death by his wife Mary, his parents, their loving son Michael and two brothers and one sister.
The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to the Waterford in Wisconsin Rapids and the House of the Dove in Marshfield for the wonderful care and respect that they showed him in his final days.
Someone once said that Bill was the kind of guy that most men aspired to be like, His faith, hardworking ethic and integrity set him apart. He loved his God, his family and life. There was true joy in a life well lived.
