William E. Longworth

William E. Longworth, age 86, passed away on Sunday July 7, 2024, at Aspirus Riverview Hospital. He was born on October 13, 1937, in Appleton, the son of Harold and Rose (Stadler) Longworth. He graduated from Appleton West High School. He then served his country in the US Air Force following his discharge from the Air Force. He moved back to Appleton and started working for Consolidated Papers. He later moved to Wisconsin Rapids in 1983 and then retired in 2000. Bill married Hazel Stueber on April 7, 1956. In his younger years he enjoyed auto racing, going to the dog races and trips to the casino. He also enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren play sports, Bill and Hazel also enjoyed going out for Fish Fry’s and playing Bingo at Danny K’s. Bill is survived by his wife of 68 years Hazel; his sons, Bill (Sharon) Longworth, Rick (Cathie) Longworth; daughters, Barbara (Dave) Sanderfoot, Debbie Gosse, Nancy Longworth and Christy (Brian) Mancl. He is further survived by 16 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son-in-law Darrell Gosse and one granddaughter.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at the Herman-Taylor Funeral Home with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park with military honors. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the services at the funeral home.
