Tonya Marie Hodge, age 49, of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away on January 5, 2024, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
Tonya was born September 24, 1974 in St. Paul, Minnesota to Edwin and Jacqueline (Bourget) Brummund. She grew up in Stevens Point and attended Stevens Point Area High School (SPASH).
A loving daughter, wife, and mother, Tonya's kind-heartedness and vibrant spirit touched all who knew her.
Tonya was a homemaker who took immense pride in creating a warm, welcoming environment for her family and friends. She had a special fondness for nature, often found tending to her flower garden. Tonya loved the color purple, a symbol of her creativity and free spirit, and collecting mushroom and frog items. Disc golfing and bike riding with her late husband, Glen Hodge, were among her favorite pastimes. Despite several health challenges, she remained a beacon of resilience and strength. Tonya's love for her family was unparalleled; she would move mountains for her children. As novelist Richard Bach once said, "The bond that links your true family is not one of blood, but of respect and joy in each other's life."
Tonya will be deeply missed by her mother Jacqueline Brummund; her children: Ariel (Shaylen) Haasl, Desiah Hodge, and Zachary Hodge; grandchildren: Addisyn, Jameson, Pheonix, Monte, and Silas; her brothers: Greg (Peggy) Brummund, Keith (Cyndi) Brummund, and Kurt (Connie) Brummund; her mother-in-law, Hope Hodge; her brothers and sisters-in-law: George (Babylou) Hodge, Deborah (Scott) Fergason, Gary Hodge, Dick (Tonya) Hodge, and Karen Hodge; and her special friend Shannon. She joins in eternal rest her father, Edwin Brummund; her late husband, Glen Hodge; and her father-in-law, George Hodge.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, January 28, 2024 at 10:00 am at the Herman-Taylor Funeral Home & Cremation Center, located at 2201 Chestnut Street, Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin. A memorial service will follow at the same location at 12:00 pm. A meal will follow the service at the funeral home.
