Teresa A. Lemper, age 78, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 4, 2026. She was born on August 30, 1948, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, the daughter of Elmer and Lucille Maldeney. Teresa graduated in 1968 in Fort Wayne and later married the love of her life, John Lemper, on September 13, 1977, in Auburn, Indiana.
Teresa was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend with a heart of gold. Throughout the many challenges she faced in life, she remained steadfast in her love for her family, always choosing what was best for them. Her deep faith guided her, and she was a longtime member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Nekoosa.
She enjoyed the simple joys of life—playing bingo, cooking, watching television (especially westerns), appreciating the arts, caring for her cats, and traveling. With John’s military service, Teresa embraced living in many different places, finding adventure and connection wherever life took them.
Teresa is survived by her children: James (Mai Choua Yang) Lemper, Ben (Michelle Westpfahl) Lemper, Joe (Heidi Buchholz) Lemper, Jeanette (Michael) Godwin, Elizabeth Barrand, and Sara Eifrid; her grandchildren: Hazel, Brayden, Faith, Dylan, and Jaxson Lemper; Patrick and Joseph Godwin; Evana, Hailey, Leeanna, Levi, Emma, and Henry Lemper; and her step‑grandchildren: Nevaeh Thao, Tidus Moua, and Austin Moua. She is further survived by her great‑granddaughter, Nora; her brother, Tom Maldeney; and her sister‑in‑law, Phyllis Maldeney.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John, in 2008; her brother, Charles Maldeney; and her sister‑in‑law, Diane Maldeney.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, October 9, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Nekoosa. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Nekoosa. Visitation will be held at the church from 11:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.
