Tammy Steward, age 61, of the Village of Biron, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 13, 2026. She was born on October 21, 1964, in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin, the beloved daughter of James "Jim" and Mary (Fanning) Kell. A lifelong resident of the Wisconsin Rapids area, Tammy graduated with her associate’s degree and dedicated herself to her family, her profession, and her local community.

On November 7, 1986, Tammy was united in marriage to the love of her life, Michael "Mike" Steward, at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Wisconsin Rapids. Together, they made their home in the Village of Biron, sharing nearly four decades of love, laughter, and devotion, and raising their two daughters, Elizabeth and Sara.
Tammy was a fixture in the community she loved dearly. For 40 dedicated years, she worked as a talented beautician, cherishing the camaraderie and lasting friendships built while renting her chair at MS Image Salon. Passionate about local leadership and serving others, she proudly gave 30 years of public service on the Village Board of Biron.

Tammy had a vibrant personality and lived life to the fullest. Known for her quick wit, trademark sassy comments, and wonderfully blunt sense of humor, she never failed to bring a smile to those around her. She had a true green thumb and found immense joy tending to her gardens, shooting pool, cracking open a cold beer with family and friends, and singing along to the hits of Elvis Presley and Neil Diamond. A devoted sports fan, she loved passionately cheering on her beloved Milwaukee Brewers and Green Bay Packers.

Above all, Tammy cherished her family. Being an aunt and especially a grandma was one of her greatest honors and purest joys. She loved her grandchildren beyond measure, celebrating every milestone and delighting in every moment spent together.

Tammy is survived by her loving husband, Mike Steward; her daughter, Sara Steward; her mother, Mary (Fanning) Kell; her precious granddaughters, Sadie Campbell (7), Mackenzie Campbell (5), and Rylie Campbell (4); her brothers, Bill (Mary) Kell, Joe (Vicki) Kell, and Boon (Joyce) Kell; her sister, Julie (Bob) Polzin; along with many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family, dear friends, and her close-knit circle of fellow chair ladies and friends at MS Image Salon. She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Elizabeth Steward (January 2024); and her loving father, James "Jim" Kell

The Steward family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the emergency room nurses and medical staff at Aspirus Riverview Hospital (Aspirus WR) for their exceptional care, kindness, and deep compassion during Tammy’s final hours.

There will be 2 opportunities to celebrate Tammy's Life, the first will be at the Rooted in Red 1060 Center Street, Wisconsin Rapids on Sunday, November 15, 2026, from 12 p.m. until 5 p.m. and the second will be on Saturday, December 12, 2026, from 12 pm until 5 pm at the Flater's Resort N270 County Road E. Holcombe, Wisconsin.
