Susan Hopfer was born on the 23rd day of March 1946 in Neillsville, Wisconsin, she passed away on the 15th of October 2023. Known by many for her warm smile and welcoming heart, she lived a full life characterized by love, grace, and dedication to her family. Susan spent most of her life in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin where she was a well-loved and respected member of the community. She spent many years working as a bank teller at Bullseye Credit Union (Now Connexus), retiring in 2014 after 22 years of service.
Susan is survived by her children, Sheila Hoffman and Aric (Mary Cismoski) Hopfer, and a doting grandmother and great-grandmother to Erin (Jason) Scinicariello, Paige Allen, Naomi Scinicariello, and Vincent Scinicariello. She is also survived by her brother, Jim (Sandy Connell) Wedekind, and her special friend, Mike Roby. Her parents, Harry and LaVerne Wedekind, preceded her in death. Susan found great joy in spending time with her loved ones, especially her grandchildren. As Helen Keller once stated, "The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched - they must be felt with the heart." This quote shows Susan's love for her family, which was indeed the most beautiful thing about her.
Susan was an avid Green Bay Packers fan, and she loved music, dancing with friends, and bird watching with her kitty, Zeba. She was known for her thoughtful gestures, always putting others before herself. Special thanks are extended to the caregivers at Aspirus Cancer Center and Hospice as well as Our House Assisted Living.
Private family burial will be held at a later date in Neillsville City Cemetery.
