Sue Ann Seidel

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of a remarkable woman, Sue Ann Seidel, who was born on August 18, 1940, in Ishpeming, MI, and passed away on July 27, 2024. Sue, a compassionate and dedicated woman, spent her life caring for others, both in her personal relationships and her chosen career in healthcare. She was a beacon of love and generosity, always seeking ways to make others' lives better.

Sue was a beloved figure in her Wisconsin Rapids community, where she spent countless hours as a Home Health Aid and a Certified Nursing Assistant. Her dedication to her work was only surpassed by her love for her family and friends. Sue was an avid lover of polkas, dice games, game shows, and casino trips. She also enjoyed bowling, fishing, and cooking. But most notably, she was a caregiver, always prioritizing the welfare of others above her own.

Sue married Vilas Gumz on September 24, 1960, they later divorced in 1977. Sue later married Carl Seidel on February 14, 1994; he preceded her in death in 2012.

Sue is survived by her sister Lorraine Grode; her son, Tom (Sheryl) Gumz; her daughter, Patty (Andy) Gburek; her grandchildren, Theresa (Kirk) Gehl, Brad Gumz, Ashley (Paul) Fischer, Jessica Plante, Joseph, Elizabeth and Nicholas Gburek and by her great grandchildren, Sylvia and Dylan Gehl.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Sylvia Jenkin, her husband, Carl Seidel, her daughter, Tamara Gumz, her brothers Joseph, Jack and Robert "Bobby", and her sisters, Elizabeth, Judy, Muriel and Christine.

The family would like to thank Karla and Kathy, her dear friends from the Huntington House for their friendship and care.

A visitation for Sue will be held at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home on Saturday, August 3, 2024, at 10:00 am, followed by a Memorial Service at 12:00 pm.

Sue made everyone feel loved, and her memory will live on in the hearts of all she touched.
