Steven Jepson

Steven N. Jepson, age 75, of Wisconsin Rapids passed away Monday, August 24, 2026 at University Hospital in Madison.

Steve was born August 30, 1950 in Wisconsin Rapids to Lawrence and Ellen (King) Jepson. He married his soulmate, Cindy Ahles, on April 18, 1988 in Wisconsin Rapids. Together they built a life filled with love and laughter.

He was employed as a lab technician at Consolidated Papers Inc., Kraft Division, for over 30 years until his retirement.

Steve was a talented musician. At the tender age of eight, he recorded a record playing the organ. Over the years, he remained a devoted musician, finding joy and solace in the keys of his organ. Steve’s love for music was only paralleled by his love for the outdoors. An avid hunter and fisherman, he found immense pleasure in the tranquility of nature. He was an avid bird watcher and had a special appreciation for flowers, often spending hours in their company.

Steve was the life of family gatherings, always ready with a good joke. His workshop was a place where he found profound happiness, putzing around and building various things for his family. He was a man who lived life fully, enjoying high school sports, especially wrestling, and always treasuring time spent with loved ones.

Steve is survived by his loving wife, Cindy; his children: Joni (Mark) Plager, Roy Jepson (Kelli), Laura (Chad) Van Tassel, Jeremy Jazdzewski (Paula), and Larry Jepson (Amy); grandchildren: Austin Pflager, Ashlee Pflager, Alex Pflager, Mallory Jepson, Andrew Jepson, Abby Jepson, Cody Lutz, Sierra Van Tassel, Dukeoda Droste, Jazmine Droste, Brenden Jepson, and Bentley Jepson; great-grandchildren: Claire, Vincent, Braxten, Raleigh, Violet, Jaxson, Finn, and Dom; and sister, Rhonda (Richard) Jackan. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Terry Jepson; and sister, Holly Livernash.

A celebration of Steve’s life will be held from 12:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. on Sunday, September 20, 2026 at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home in the new celebration center.
