Shirley Peterson

Shirley Elaine Peterson, born December 23, 1956, in Eveleth, MN, was a woman of resilience, faith, and warmth. She filled her home in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin, with love, laughter, and the tantalizing aroma of freshly baked goods. A retired Quality Control specialist in the food manufacturing industry, Shirley's meticulous nature and commitment to excellence were not confined to her professional life. She brought these attributes to her personal passions as well - baking, crafting, sewing, crocheting, gardening, canning foods, and travel. Her love for life was infectious and she took joy in the simple pleasures, always appreciating the beauty around her.

Shirley was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She is survived by her son, Calvin Robinson, her daughter Danielle Robinson, her granddaughter, London Robinson, her ex-husbands Ralph Arnold and Francis Robinson, her sisters Bobbi Carrion and Wendy Peterson, her brothers-in-law Rock Carrion and John Gersy, her sister-in-law Becky Peterson, her friend Sharon Brueggen, Dawn Carlson, and Mary Mundinac. She was preceded in death by her parents Stanley and Virginia Peterson, her brothers, Jeff Petterson and James Peterson, and her sister Karen Gersy.

Shirley's strength was truly remarkable. She was given three additional years of life thanks to the dedicated staff at UW Hospital transplant team, and her gratitude for this gift was immense. She also held a special place in her heart for nurses Nick and Patrick and the lung transplant team who provided her with exceptional end-of-life care.
