Same has been a great companion for 14 plus years. Sam's mommy always said he was the best doggie!
When we first got Sam, we took him to Ohio, he was so small we put him on the dashboard. He loved the ride.
Sam enjoyed going on walks, lying in the sun and growling at pedestrians when we went on car rides. He walked around on many trails with us. He walked all over Rib Mountain, more than once.
He was small but had the bark of a big dog. One time he was behind a lady and barked at her, it scared the heck out of her. When she jumped and turned to see the aggressive dog, she was stunned to see his petite size.
Sam was a protecter also. When we went fishing, he would sit with his back to the water and watch for people, then he would bark like crazy and spin in circles to warn us. When our granddaughter Madalynn was a baby, he would sit right by and stand guard. He would snap at Shadow, but when she came home from vet trips, he was all concerned and loving.
Sam had several facial expressions. The Elvis lip if he was ticked at you. The big brown doe eyes if he wanted your attention, the squinty sad eyes if he wanted your food and many more expressions.
Sam was a super finicky eater, but we catered to his beckon call, including ice cubes in his water and warming his meals in the oven.
What a smart and loving dog. Sam was a snuggler, a companion a friend, a cherished member of our family and we will miss him dearly. He will always be forever in our hearts.
Goodbye for now Sam.
