Roy Hendershot

–

Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin

Roy David Hendershot, passed away on Tuesday, April 14, 2026 at the Waterford Nursing home.

He was born on the February 10,1940, in Climax, MI, to Loren and Edna (Rugg) Hendershot.

Roy was a man of few words, yet his actions spoke volumes about his character. His presence left a lasting impression, especially on his family.

Professionally, Roy was a dedicated welder who devoted over three decades to Consumer Energy Co. Still, it was his service in the Army National Guard that brought him his greatest sense of pride. He served his country with honor and dignity.

Outside of work, Roy found peace in life’s quieter moments. He cherished his independence and preferred solitude, often spending time on his bike, taking in the scenic beauty around him. In those moments, he was most at ease—reflecting a man who valued simplicity, self-reliance, and the calm found away from the noise of the crowd.

Roy is survived by his sons: Kevin Hendershot, David Hendershot, Michael Hendershot and sister Kathy Palmer.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Loren and Edna Hendershot, and his brothers Albert, Kenny and Arthur Hendershot.

The family would like to thank the staff of Interim Hospice for their excellent care that he received.

We invite friends and family to share their memories of Roy on his memorial page. Your stories and pictures not only honor Roy's life but also provide comfort in this time of sorrow. We look forward to hearing about the many ways Roy touched your lives.
