Ronald was born on May 20, 1952, in Stevens Point, WI, to Frederick and Ramona (Golla) Siegel.
He graduated from Assumption High School in 1970, attended UWSP and earned his associate degree from Mid-State Technical College. Ronald married Lana L. Little on April 28, 1973, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. They were blessed with 40 years of marriage until her passing on January 20, 2014. Ronald was a devoted member of St. Vincent's de Paul Catholic Church for his entire life.
For 43 dedicated years, Ronald "Rabbit" worked as a millwright at the Biron Paper Mill. He developed lifelong friendships during his time at the Mill and enjoyed visiting some of them after retirement.
Ronald was an avid fisherman and hunter. He shared this interest with not only his grandchildren, but his fishing and hunting buddies. He was a familiar face at the card table, where his game of choice was Sheepshead. Ron enjoyed fixing and building things such as toys for the grandkids and special projects on his daughter's farm. His love for his family was unparalleled. Ron's greatest passion by far was being Papa to his grandchildren. Each of them has a special bond and memories that they will treasure forever. He enjoyed teaching his grandkids to fish in St. Germain, attending their sports and school events, and keeping family traditions alive throughout the year. Ronald liked to travel and explore from long trips to Disney World to short trips around Wisconsin.
Ronald is survived by his children: Shane (Andrea) Siegel, of Janesville, Sarah (Dennis) Bangart of Loyal; grandchildren: Aidan, Addison, Luciana, Hendrick, and Loretta; siblings: Tim (Betsy) Siegel of Sheboygan, Jane (Norm) Olsen of Wisconsin Rapids, and many nieces, nephews, and other family.
Ronald is preceded in death by his loving wife Lana, parents, father, and mother-in-law John (Florence) Little, sister and brother-in-law Dennis (Sharon) Waters and nephew Brad Lee Meyers.
The family would like to thank the staff at Mayo Clinic for their kind and loving support.
