Rod D. McCanless

Rod D. McCanless, age 64, of Grand Rapids, WI passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 5, 2024 at home with his loving wife and fur baby by his side.
Rod was born on August 31, 1960 at Resurrection Hospital in Chicago, IL. He went to Maine South High School in Park Ridge, IL.
In 1982, Rod met the love of his life, Tina. They were married on April 23, 1988 and have two sons; Jason and Brian. Rod was also blessed with his granddaughter, Michaela.
Rod was a carpenter by trade, and over the years did everything from rough framework to finishing and painting. He and Tina also ran their own business for 11 years doing military uniform services.
Rod had a passion for muscle cars and sadly never got to finish the Cuda project planned with his youngest son, Brian. He loved to escape into his music. Rod loved being in nature! Whether it be on the water in his boat or up in the mountains, he was in his “happy place”.
Rod is survived by his wife of 36 years, Tina; sons Jason Warpinski and Brian McCanless; granddaughter, Michaela Warpinski; brother, Brad McCanless; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Jack McCanless and Irene (Monroe) McCanless; sister, Freya Pahnke; and brother-in-law, Ron Pahnke.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2024 at the Wisconsin Rapids Lions Club, 3331 10th Street South, Wisconsin Rapids, beginning at 1:00 P.M.
