Norbert Fuchs

Norbert C. Fuchs, 91, of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at his home, surrounded by his family.
Services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 9, 2024, at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids. Rev. Alan Guanella will officiate. Visitation will be from 8:00 a.m. Until the time of services on Thursday at the funeral home.
Norbert was born May 9, 1932, in Medford Wisconsin to William and Marie (Klement) Fuchs. He graduated from Marshfield Senior High in 1950. Norbert married Joan Peeler on April 7, 1972, in Wisconsin Rapids. Together, they created a home filled with love, laughter, and warmth.
Norbert spent his working life as a successful contractor, with a dedication that was as much a testament to his work ethic as his adventurous spirit. Norbert was an avid outdoorsman who loved taking his family on road trips across the United States. In his younger years, he also enjoyed fishing trips to Red Lake in Canada and hunting trips to Wyoming for Mule Deer and Antelope. These adventures served as the backdrop to countless stories shared that will continue to bring smiles to those who remember him.

He was always known as a jokester. His knack for lifting spirits and a hint of mischief made him a joy to be around. His notorious sweet tooth often led him to steal desserts when given the chance.

Norbert is survived by his loving wife, Joan; children: Greg Fuchs, Steve (Kacy) Fuchs, William Fuchs, and Linda (Mike) Becker; five grandchildren: Adam, Aidan, Soren, Logan, and Laney; one great-grandchild Anderson; sisters: Marcella Brey and Mary Margaret (Ray) Chevalier and many nieces, nephews and close family members.

Norbert is preceded in death by his parents: brother Joseph (Pauline) Fuchs, sister Agnes (Reuben) Merkel, and brother-in-law George Brey Sr.
