Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin
It is with sorrow and immense love that I, Ann Schlice announce the passing of my beloved husband, Michael Scott Schlice. Born on July 22, 1955, in Stevens Point, Wisconsin, Michael, affectionately known as Mike, filled his 70 years with the joyous pursuit of life's simple pleasures. As a lover of nature, he created a bird haven at our residence in Wisconsin Rapids, transforming our home into a sanctuary for all manner of feathered friends. His passion for the outdoors also shone through in his love of fishing, gardening, landscaping, and photography. A lifelong Wisconsin Badger and Green Bay Packer fan, Mike's enthusiasm was infectious, rallying our family to cheer alongside him. A music lover, Mike had an extensive collection of record albums and found great joy in sharing his love of music with everyone around him.
Mike was a dedicated professional, having worked as a printer for 35 years before working at Donaldson & Co. But it was his role as a husband, father, and "Pop Pop" that he truly treasured. His love for his family was his guiding principle, and he cherished every moment spent with our children, Nick and Alissa, and our beautiful grandchildren, Brayden and Mila. Mike lived every day, providing not just materially but emotionally and spiritually for all of us. Whether we were exploring new places, from Hayward to St. Germain, Door County to various Bed and Breakfasts, or simply enjoying a home-cooked meal, his steady, supportive presence was our cornerstone and he was always there when you needed him.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Willard and Hilde Schlice. He is survived by his Wife Ann, his children, Nick (Mara) Schlice and Alissa (Mitch Rowin) Schlice; his grandchildren, Brayden and Mila Schlice. he also leaves behind his brother Roger Schlice, sister Marilyn (Bud) Barta, brothers-in-law Doug Christensen and Michael (Jude) Christensen, and a host of friends who became family. We will carry on Mike's legacy, honoring his memory in the everyday moments that he cherished.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 8th, 2025, at 9:00 am CST at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1517 24th Street South, Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin. This will be followed by a memorial service at 11:00 am CST at the Immanuel Lutheran Church.
In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church or to the South Wood County Humane Society.
We would like to thank all of our neighbors, family, friends and our church family for the outpouring of prayers, love and support during this difficult time.
We invite you to share your memories and upload photos of Michael on his memorial page. It will comfort us to hear how he touched your lives, just as he deeply touched ours.
