Marlyn A. "Marly" Edinger, born on September 30th, 1948, in Oshkosh, WI, USA, was a beacon of light in the lives of those who knew her. Her laughter was a melody that echoed in the hearts of her loved ones, bringing joy and warmth to every gathering. She went home to be with the Lord on November 25th, 2024, her spirit and legacy will forever remain alive in our hearts.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday December 7, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at
First Baptist Church 910 McKinley St. Wisconsin Rapids with Pastor Josh Kohn presiding. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church with a meal to follow.
Marly was a woman of unyielding dedication and loyalty, attributes that shone brightly through her long career as a housekeeper in a local hospital. She brought the same level of commitment to her role as a greeter at the facility where she resided, always ensuring that every face she welcomed was met with a warm smile and a kind word. Marly was known for her heartwarming sense of humor, often lightening the mood with her witty remarks. Her knack for seeing the silver lining in every cloud was truly inspiring. She was a devoted member of First Baptist Church in Wisconsin Rapids where she was an active member. Singing was an important part of her life weather it was in church or singing Karaoke with her friend George.
Marly was a loving mother to her daughters, Cheri (Mark) Brandt and Paula, and a doting grandmother to Tiffany Stashek and her grand puppy Smokey. Her family was her pride and joy, and she cherished every moment spent with them. The family gatherings, holidays, and simple everyday moments were what mattered most to Marly. Her love for her family was beautifully encapsulated in the words of Helen Keller, "The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched - they must be felt with the heart."
She was equally devoted to her close friends, Katherine, Lou, and Kathy. These friendships, nurtured over the years, were a testament to Marly's loyalty and the depth of her affection. She had a unique ability to make everyone around her feel special and loved.
Marly was preceded in death by her beloved husband, George Edinger in 2003; her parents, Paul and Marie George; her daughter Paula Koppela in 2022; her grandsons, Brandon and Tyler Stashek in 1995 and by her grand puppy Bella "Boo". Despite these losses, she carried on with a resilient spirit, never letting her heartache overshadow the love she had for those still around her.
The family would like to thank the staffs of North Shore Health Services and the doctors and nurses of Aspirus Riverview for the care they gave Marlyn.
