Linda Sue Whitney, age 66, of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away Thursday, December 21, 2023 at Marshfield Medical Center in Marshfield with family by her side.
Visitation for relatives and friends will be from 9:00-11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home.
Linda was born July 20, 1957 in Wisconsin Rapids to Walter and Angeline (Jinsky) Bohn. She married Thomas Whitney on September 16, 1978 at the United Methodist Church in Wisconsin Rapids, and together they built a life of shared dreams and mutual respect. Linda's loving nature was evident in her dedication to her family, and she cherished every moment spent with them.
Linda worked at Consolidated Papers Inc. in Wisconsin Rapids for several years, and then part time in the office at the family business, Bohn Trucking and Excavating. If you were to ask Linda though, she would say her full time job was grandma.
Linda had a passion for camping and traveling, with memorable cruising voyages to Alaska and the Caribbean as highlights. Linda also found joy in life’s simpler pleasures, such as watching wildlife in her backyard, baking cupcakes and making Snicker bar salad, and embarking on road trips in search of the perfect scoop of ice cream. As a longtime member of the Grand Rapids Lions Club and Grand Rapids Lioness Club, Linda made a lasting impact on her community.
Linda is survived by her loving husband, Thomas; children: Jamie (Amanda) Whitney of Spencer and Scott (Deb) Whitney and Robin Scott both of Nekoosa; grandchildren: Amanda (Jarrod) Dolph, Ashlee (Jake) Bloyd, Ben (Kayla) Oleson, Keely (Dakota) Mills, Jenny (Pat) Dunn, Tyler Andreasen, Kolton Liss, and Lydia Pupp; great-grandchildren: Morgan, Dylan, Bailee, Madyson, Emma, Karter, Kenzie, Ashlyn, Alexa, Ethan, Amelia, Rebecca, and Jack; siblings: Jeanne (Dale) Kranz, Thomas (Donna) Bohn, and Ronald (Deb) Bohn all of Wisconsin Rapids, Sandy Grode of Nekoosa, Judy (Rod) McLellan of Arizona, and Donald (Joyce) Bohn of Wautoma; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; brother-in-law, Dade Grode; and nephew, Justin Bohn.
Special thanks to the Marshfield Medical Center Critical Care Unit staff for the exceptional care Linda received.
