Lester Rabska

Lester DuWayne Rabska, 99 years old, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday October 4, 2026, with the love of life, Darlene (Dolly) by his side.
Lester was born in Withee, Wisconsin on June 21, 1927, on the family homestead to Richard and Emma (Baehr) Rabska. Lester attended school in the Withee area. As a young man he enjoyed racing Indian motorcycles and helping on the family farm. In 1952, he joined the Army and served in the Korean War as a mechanic and bridge builder. After leaving the war he settled in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and began working at Allis Chalmers.
In January 1956 he met the love of his life, Dolly Jean Segerson. They were married on June 2, 1956, in Milwaukee. They started their family in October of 1958 and had two of their children while living in Milwaukee, Gary and Ronald. They moved to Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin for Lester to accelerate his career in heavy machinery mechanics at Fiat Allis. Once in Chippewa Falls, they continued to grow their family with the addition of three more children, Gail, Carla, and Christopher. While living in Chippewa Falls, they developed deep friendships with many of the neighbors. They played cards regularly and spent many nights together. While the children were young Lester taught them how to hunt, fish, repair cars and to spend time with family. Lester and Dolly took the family on many camping trips, especially to Lake Holcombe, one of his favorite places. In 1984 Lester moved the family to Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin to continue his career. Lester retired in 1993 and has been spending his days playing cards, cribbage, and dominos with Dolly daily. He also enjoyed many walks and bike rides around the lake, enjoying nature and being outdoors.
Lester is survived by his wife of 70 years, Dolly, his children, Gary (Sandy) Rabska of Chippewa Falls, Ronald (Kim) Rabska of Baraboo, Carla (Scott) Dorshorst, and Christopher (Tricia) Rabska both of Wisconsin Rapids. He is also survived by grandchildren, Joshua (Mallory) Rabska, Jacob Rabska, and Emily Rabska of Chippewa Falls, Nicholas (Aditi) Rabska of Baraboo, Matthew Rabska of Madison, Emma Dorshorst (fiancée Nathan Britz) of St Petersburg, Florida, Tanna Dorshorst (fiancée Kyler Smigaj) of Winston Salem, North Carolina, Kylee Rabska, Reegan Rabska, Javier Corral Jr. (fiancée Alexis Franklin) and Adriana Corral (fiancée Jadan Jensen) all of Wisconsin Rapids, along with many great grandchildren.
Lester is proceeded in death by his daughter, Gail Marie Rabska, his parents, Richard and Emma, his brothers, Howard (Gladys) Rabska, Hermie (Dorothy) Rabska, Roger (Shirley) Rabska and his sister Florence (Earl) Peterson. His in-laws, Sverre and Martha Segerson and many brothers and sisters-in-law.
Funeral Service will be held on Friday October 9, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home with Pastor Matthew Lorfeld Officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday October 9, 2026 from 9:00 AM until the hour of service at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home.
