Leroy Kunkel

LeRoy Kunkel, age 84, of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at Aspirus Riverview Hospital.
LeRoy was born on July 22, 1939 to Leonard and Elizabeth (Paich) Kunkel in Milwaukee, WI. He worked for several years as the frozen food manager at the IGA in Wisconsin Rapids. In his younger years, he liked to taking family camping trips to Pike Lake, and Roche-A-Cri State Park.
LeRoy enjoyed keeping up with the news and watched it daily. In his spare time, he liked listening to polka and classic country music. LeRoy made lots of friends the last two years while living at the Parkview Apartments. He will be deeply missed and was loved by all, but especially Laurie Johnson and Randy Voss.
LeRoy is survived by his children: Laura Newby, David Kunkel, Daniel Kunkel, Denise Bourassa; brother Neil Kunkel; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and his cat Abby.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife Dianne; sisters Joanne and Jeannie; and brother Gary.
