Leona Dhein

Leona M. Dhein passed peacefully at her home on Saturday, August 29, 2026 surrounded by her children.

Leona (Oney) was born in Wisconsin Rapids, WI to Walter & Ella Hoefs. She married Donald Dhein when he returned from the Navy. Together Don & Oney raised four children, Gregory Dhein, Debra (Dain) Conover, Lisa (Ed) Marcott and Michelle (John) Becker.
Leona was a homemaker. She is a life-long member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. She enjoyed traveling, camping, visiting wineries & a recent trip to Hawaii. She had always been active, enjoyed her friends at exercise class & fellow card players at the Lowell Senior Center.

Leona is survived by her children, Greg, Debra & Michelle; grandchildren Bryan (Carrie) Dhein, Joshua Frederick, Cody (Lindsey) Conover, Zachary (Erika Degler) Conover, Ethan Conover, and Alicia (Nick) Blake, along with great-grandchildren Avery, Brooke (Samuel), Colten, Oliver, Owen, Remington, Rosie Mae, and Maverick and Izzabel and Statham.
She is further survived by her brother Roger Hoefs, sister-in-law Shirley Plowman and brother-in-law Herbert (Bonnie) Dhein.

Leona is predeceased by her husband Donald, daughter Lisa, son-in-law Ed Marcott and grandson Christopher Becker. She is also predeceased by her sisters, Helen (Bernard) Wirth, Loretta (Richard) Erickson, baby sister, sister-in-law Romelle Hoefs and special friend, Dorene Gengler.

Leona is further predeceased by brothers-in-law Kenneth (Geraldine) Dhein, Vern (Delores) Dhein, Lawrence (Beverly, Deanna) Dhein, Earl (Betty) Dhein & Robert Plowman. Also, sister-in-law Irene (Felix) Wolosek.

Visitation for Leona will be Tuesday, September 8 from 4-7 pm at Herman Taylor Funeral Home. On Wednesday, September 9, visitation will be from 9-11 am with service at 11am at Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Gone from this world, but never from our hearts.
