Kurt A. Grassell, age 68, of Wisconsin Rapids passed away on Thursday, February 15, 2024, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. Kurt was born on December 11, 1945, to Ronald and Gertrude (Bergquist) Grassell in Milwaukee, WI. He graduated from Franklin High School in Franklin WI. Kurt married Katie Pekrul on the fourth of July. Kurt worked for over 20 years as a machinist and maintenance machinist at Navistar in Milwaukee, WI. Kurt's life was one of hard work and dedication, both to his career as a Machinist and to his beloved family and friends. After retiring from the machine shop, he could often be found tinkering away in his garage, a testament to his lifelong love for working on cars. He was a steadfast fan of NASCAR, cheering on any driver behind the wheel of a Ford. A trip to the local track was always a highlight. His unique blend of charm, wit, and warm-heartedness made him a joy to be around. Kurt was known for his infectious humor and supportive nature, always ready to lend an ear or a helping hand to those in need. He lived his life with a joyful spirit that was as engaging as it was memorable sharing time with his family. Kurt is survived by his wife Katie; daughter Janice Grassell; brother Mark (Lori) Grassell and nephews Michael Lawson, and John (Susan) Grassell. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Karen Lawson, and nephew Jerry Grassell.
