Services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Friday June 7, 2024, at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids. Visitation for relatives and friends will be from 2:00 p.m. until the time of services on Friday at the funeral home.
Karen was born December 22, 1965, in Chandler, Arizona to Harry and Alice (May) Haessley. She grew up in Arizona where she met Randy together, they had a daughter. Karen's journey led her from Arizona to Wisconsin Rapids, in 1987, where she created a life filled with love and joy. It was here that she met Jay, the love of her life, a bond that remained strong and unbroken since 2017.
Karen's love of life was infectious and was reflected in her many passions. She was a dedicated manager and worked at Taco Bell for several years until retiring. Her love for her family was, however, her greatest passion. Family cookouts, fishing trips to Mengel's Marsh, dancing in the car with her beloved grandchildren and delighting in the simple pleasures of parades and attending farmer's markets were among her favorite pastimes. Her fondness for Mexican food was no secret, and it was a joy she loved to share with her family and friends. Karen also had a profound love for animals, especially her dogs who were always by her side.
Karen is survived by her loving fiancé Jay Konkol; father Harry Haessley; daughter Sarah (Devon Parkinson) Popp; grandchildren: Mackenzie, Colin, Brendyn, Alexia; siblings: Rick May, Chris (Dawn) May, Michelle May, Chris Haessley, and Pamela (Sean); 13 nephews and nieces; 17 great nephew and nieces. She is further survived by her childhood friend Lisa and close friends Gina and Leilani.
She is predeceased by her mother Alice Haessley; aunts: Iris and Pat; uncle Bud, nephew Cody and her dogs Apollo, Taz, and Chinook.
