Jessica K. McDowell

Jessica K. McDowell, age 49, passed away on Sunday, September 6, 2026, from complications of an ongoing illness.
Born on September 19, 1976, at the Great Lakes Naval Station in Chicago, Illinois, she was the daughter of Keith and Laurie (Roberts) McDowell.

Jessica worked as a manager at the BP Station in Nekoosa, where she was known for her dedication, reliability, and the easy kindness she showed to customers and coworkers alike. Outside of work, she found joy in the things that brought her both challenge and comfort. She loved shooting pool and was an active member of a Thursday Night Pool League, participating in numerous tournaments over the years. She also enjoyed hunting and fishing whenever she had the chance.

Above all, Jessica cherished time spent with her family—especially her grandchildren, who were the light of her life.

She is survived by her father, Keith McDowell; her son, Nicholas McDowell (Kasandra Schenck); her brother, Joshua McDowell; her grandchildren, Neo, Maxwell, Mason, and Mya; her grandmother, Vernell “Nellie” Roberts; and her aunts, Linda Arendt and Penni (Joe) Maday.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Laurie McDowell, in 2024, and by her grandfather, Vernon Roberts.

A Celebration of Her Life will be held on Friday, September 11, 2026, at the home of Keith and Nick McDowell, 824 Bornbach Road, Wisconsin Rapids, WI 54494, beginning at 1:00 p.m.
