Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin

Harold L. Keen, age 93, passed away Saturday, January 3, 2026, at Whispering Pines in Plover, Wisconsin.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery in Wisconsin Rapids.

Harold was born November 24, 1932, in Stevens Point, Wisconsin to Leo and Genevieve Keen. He proudly served in the United States Army and worked for the railroad and for Georgia-Pacific as a paper tester in Port Edwards.

Harold, a true outdoorsman at heart, he found joy in the simple beauty of nature, whether hunting, fishing, cutting wood, or keeping his yard perfectly groomed. His handiwork could be seen in everything he touched; he had an incredible gift for building or fixing just about anything.

Family was at the center of his world. Some of his happiest moments were spent around the table, playing cards or dice, sharing stories, laughter, and lighthearted pranks. Later in life, he discovered a love for pool, quickly earning the title “pool shark” even in his 70s. He also enjoyed following and playing the stock market.

He lived his faith deeply, guided by a strong Catholic faith and an active churchgoer. He also gave freely to charitable causes. Harold will be remembered for his kind heart, quick wit, and the laughter he brought to those around him.

Harold is survived by his children: Dennis Keen, Vickie Keen, David (Valerie) Keen, Sherri (Mark) Fallos, Charlotte (John) Willis, and Charlene (Larry) Schneider; grandchildren: Christopher (Nicole) Keen, Michael (Angel) Keen, Nathaniel Keen and Mitchel Keen; great-grandchildren: Paxton, Parker, Hailey, Matilda.

He is preceded in death by his parents, sons: Daniel Lee and Wayne; grandchild Jamie Lee; siblings: Audrey (Richard) Kawleski, Marvin (Janet) Keen, and Jane (Sylvester) Pawelski; son-in-law John Willis; former spouse and special friend Donna Keen.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Heartland Hospice, Arborwood Lodge, Whispering Pines, and all of the caregivers for their care and compassion. They are true angels.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations may be made to South Wood County Humane Society.
