Harold Blum Sr.

Harold J. Blum Sr., age 63, passed away on Friday, November 8, 2024, at his home in Wisconsin Rapids.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 22, 2024, at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids. Visitation will be held from 9:00a.m. until the time-of-service Friday at the funeral home.

Harold was born on June 8, 1961, in Chicago, IL to Walter and Bernice (Wolff) Blum. He graduated from Foothill High School in Pasadena, CA. Harold married Nita Pollerana on April 16, 1988, in Chicago, IL. Together they had three children, but their marriage ended in divorce after 26 and a half years. He worked in the agriculture business as a farmer for many years.

Harold’s love for good food was no secret; he had a particular fondness for mac and cheese, hotdogs, and especially Nita’s ham. In his downtime, he enjoyed engaging in computer games, a hobby that showed his competitive spirit and playful side.

More than anything, Harold was a family man. His children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews were the center of his universe. He cherished every moment spent with them, from movie nights and visits to the zoo, to memorable trips to Water World and Rainbow Falls. But his most cherished pastime was fishing with his son, a bond that will never be forgotten.

Harold is survived by his ex-wife Nita Pollerana; children: Steven (Jacqueline) Blum, Harold Jr. Blum, Barbra Blum; grandchildren: Aurora, Justin, Eden, Thomas, Lamont; siblings: Worthington Blum, Elizabeth (Ken) Koppel, NormaJean (Steven) Joiner, and further survived by many nieces, nephews and other extended family members.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Erich John Blum.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Grand Rapids Fire Department and the American Red Cross.
