Ginger L. Jeffrey, age 70, of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 19, 2026 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
Services will be held at 12:00pm on Friday, September 11, 2026, at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home with Pastor Timothy Ritter officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00am until the time of service.
Ginger was born on October 13, 1955 in Plainview, NE to the late Richard and Dixie McMahon. She was raised on the family farm in Rudolph alongside her siblings, learning the value of hard work and commitment early on. Ginger graduated from Lincoln High School in 1973, where she met her high school sweetheart, Delbert “Del” Jeffrey.
Del proposed to Ginger on Groundhog’s Day and they were married on September 14, 1974. Together they spent just shy of 52 years building a life filled with love, adventure, and dedication. Ginger loved going for rides in their ’64 convertible Corvette Roadster or their ’79 Trans Am, and enjoyed their days in car clubs with friends. As they expanded their family, they transitioned from cars to boats, enjoying countless memories on the Wisconsin River, their Wolf River runs, Mississippi trips, and Castle Rock Lake adventures with family and friends.
Ginger was blessed with three strong and beautiful daughters: Ashley, Amanda, and Angela (Angie). She loved each of her girls for who they were individually, cheering them on with her infectious smile through every sporting event, birthday, school performance, and church program. As the girls grew older, the events changed, but Ginger’s encouragement never did - always offering a “good job, sweetie” or “you did great.” When she became a grandma, she continued showing up wholeheartedly, supporting her grandchildren at soccer fields, softball diamonds, flag football games, and even braving the cold at hockey rinks and curling clubs. Ginger didn't forget her grandpups either. They were spoiled on birthdays and holidays, and given love every time she was around.
Ginger was an active volunteer at Immanuel Lutheran, where her daughters attended school. She helped in classrooms, organized Fun Fests, collected donations, and assisted with various other fundraising events. Even after her daughters graduated, Ginger continued supporting the Script program. She donated to several groups and organizations over the years while helping where she could.
Ginger worked at Johnson Hills until its closing in 1994, then joined Riverview Hospital as a Medical Records Clerk. She navigated many changes over the years, including the transition to Aspirus. In 2021, Ginger transferred to the call center at Aspirus Doctor’s Clinic, where she guided patients through appointments and care. She retired in December 2025, and in true style, celebrated with a family dinner - complete with Southern Comfort Old Fashioneds (with green olives) and a celebratory shot.
Ginger made everyone feel seen and loved. She never missed sending birthday cards with handwritten notes, marking anniversaries, or offering support during hard times. She was often described as the nucleus of the family, and nothing could be more true. God called home a true angel, and although we weren’t ready to let her go, she remains with us - in our memories, in our stories, and forever in our hearts.
Ginger is survived by her husband, Del, her daughters, Ashley (Eric) Arndt, Amanda (Justin) Pixler, and Angie (Chris) Mackie, and her grandchildren Isabella, Owen, Mason, Olivia, and Easton. Ginger is also survived by her sister and best friend Joy (Bob) Ziemann, brother Robin (Rhonda) McMahon, sister-in-law Donna McMahon and brother-in-law Doug (Leanne) Jeffrey. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, family and friends whom she loved dearly.
Ginger is preceded in death by her parents, her in-laws John “Jack” & Kay Jeffrey, her brother Richard McMahon, sister Linda (Donnie) Pospisiel, sister Darlene (Richard) Trickle, and sister-in-law Judith McMahon. Ginger is also preceded in death by her nephew Dean Pospisiel and great niece Nicole Bowman along with other loved ones.
