Georgia L. Perring

–

Nekoosa, Wisconsin

Georgia L. Perring, born January 7, 1949, in Wausau, lived a life filled with compassion, creativity, and laughter. Her supportive nature and infectious humor made her a beacon of light for her loved ones and community. Georgia's love for life was apparent in her various hobbies and passions. Her love for cross-stitch, embroidery, and cooking were not merely pursuits of leisure but were expressions of her creativity. She was renowned for her ability to bring smiles to faces with her infectious laugh, a testament to her jovial and funny nature.
Georgia was an active member of her community, serving on the board of directors for Ives Microwave LTD and volunteering with the Missing and Exploited Children's Network. Georgia's dedication to education shone brightly. She graduated from Lincoln High School, attended Mid-State Technical College, and earned a degree in Private Investigating from Phoenix University. Her achievements were not limited to the academic sphere; she was crowned the Poppy Princess in 1967 for the American Legion, a testament to her vibrant and lively personality.
Georgia's most cherished role was that of a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was blessed to have married her love, Walter Perring, in September 1969. Her daughters Anna (Jim) Thompson and Amelia (Justin) Franklin; her grandchildren, Jacob Miller, Alaiah (Andrew) Miller Cradic, Garion Franklin, Ariel Franklin, Blake (Kyra) Thompson, Evan Thompson, Elizabeth Thompson Weist and Avery Thompson; great- granddaughter, Mara Miller, they were the apples of her eye. She found immense joy in wiggling her finger at her grandchildren and going "deedle-deedle-dee" on their necks, a playful ritual that will be fondly remembered and missed. Her brothers, James Van Sleet and Richard Davis, also survive Georgia. She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Myles Van Sleet and Georgianna Lee Hansen Ives. The family extends their gratitude to the Wood County EMS and the staff at Nekoosa Courts for their care and support for Georgia.
Private family services will be held
