Ernest Borba

Ernest “Skip” John Borba of Wisconsin Rapids passed away Tuesday, October 6, 2026 at the age of 90.

He was born on September 4, 1936 in San Luis Obispo, California. He served his country in the United States Air Force. During his life he worked at Wood County Telephone Company. He was an avid Packer fan and loved playing the piano.

He is survived by his children: Blaine Borba, Tom (Leslie) Borba, Sherry (Rod) Tucker and Kathy (Tony) Spranger. He has ten grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife, Delores Borba; two sons, Brian and John Borba; one great granddaughter Mirari Adams, and his daughter-in-law, Joan Borba.

His life and the relationships he shared with others were complicated, and each person who knew him may remember him differently. We choose to acknowledge his passing while honoring the individual experiences of those whose lives he touched.

A visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, October 13, 2026 at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids. Burial will be at a later date at Calvary Cemetery in Wisconsin Rapids.
