Elaine Rember

Elaine Rember, age 100, of Port Edwards, WI died Sunday, June 30, 2024 at Our House Assisted Living in Wisconsin Rapids.
Services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, July 5, 2024 at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids. Burial will follow at Port Edwards Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. until the time of services on Friday at the funeral home.
Elaine was born July 28, 1923 in the Village of Port Edwards to Oscar and Thora (Hansen) Carlson. She was employed in the main office of Nekoosa Edwards Paper Company.
She married Jim Rember on June 14, 1947 in Wisconsin Rapids. Jim died on December 11, 2002.
Elaine was a homemaker and enjoyed their Army tours, living in France and Germany. She liked Big Band music and never missed Lawrence Welk on Saturday nights. She loved to dance and spend time with her family and grandchildren. She also loved to bake cookies and make krumkake at Christmas time.
Elaine is survived by two sons: John (Jean) Rember and David (Tressa) Rember, both of Port Edwards; two daughters: Christine (Don) Lowe of Wisconsin Rapids and Marcia Rember of Centreville, VA; four grandchildren: Amanda (Salim) Wampler Abdelrahim, Daniel (Anna) Rember, Kelsey Rember (Joey Moser), and Brogan Rember; and three great-grandchildren: Malik and Laila Abdelrahim and Amelia Rember. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Jim, daughter Carla Wampler, son Jimmy, one sister, one brother, and son-in-law Ronnie Wampler.
