Darlene C. WhiteBear

–

Stevens Point, Wisconsin

With a spirit as vibrant as a radiant sunrise, Darlene C. WhiteBear, born on June 6, 1955, in Wisconsin Rapids, WI, walked on from this life to the next on July 12, 2024. Born into the Bear clan, Darlene was a proud member of the Native American Church, where she found strength and solace in her faith. A beloved mother, sister, and friend, her memory will be held in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Darlene was a woman of many passions. She found joy in the lively atmosphere of casinos, immersing herself in the thrill of the games and the camaraderie of fellow gamblers. She was an avid reader, always eager to explore new worlds and ideas through literature. Darlene loved attending Pow Wows, where she celebrated her culture and heritage with pride and reverence. Her career in healthcare as a Nurses Aide was not just a job, but a calling. She dedicated her life to caring for others with unwavering compassion and empathy. Darlene worked tirelessly to provide comfort to those in need, earning her respect and admiration within her community.

Darlene is survived by her sons, William WhiteBear, and Algernon Bow; her sister, Martina Little-Boy, her brother, Peter Camacho and her 2 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Angeline WhiteBear, and her brothers, Armand and Fremus WhiteBear. As we mourn her departure, we remember the Native American verse, "Life is not ended, merely changed. The spirit never dies." Darlene's spirit, fierce and loving, will continue to guide and inspire us.
