Barbara E. Walczak was born on March 25, 1939, and passed away peacefully on August 26, 2026 surrounded by her grandchildren, at the age of 87.
Barb was born to Edward and Pearl Grams in Milwaukee, WI. At the age of 16, she met the love of her life, Richard (Dick) Walczak. They married on March 23, 1959. Together, and with their son Jeffery, they built a life based on hard work, family, and love. Barb spent most of her working years at Accents. During that time, Dick and Barb built their dream house on Lake Huron. Through sweat and perseverance, they spent many happy years surrounded by family and friends.
Later, they retired to their beloved lake home. In their retirement, Dick was diagnosed with cancer. Barb lovingly cared for him through that difficult time because that's who she was. Her care and compassion defined her.
In their later years, Barb and Dick moved to Wisconsin Rapids to be closer to their son and grandchildren. Barb found happiness in the quiet things in life like doing dishes with her husband, having her son over for dinner, gabbing on the phone with her granddaughter, and writing letters to family and friends. One of her greatest joys was her great-grandchildren. Barb was happiest surrounded by her family.
Barb is survived by her husband of 67 years, Dick, son Jeffrey, granddaughter Sarah (Matt) Deniston, grandson Rich (Alyssa) Walczak, great grandchildren Elora, Nora, Andrew, and Alyson. She is further survived by brothers in law, Bob (Bobbie) Walczak, Don Walczak, and Tom Walczak, her niece Beth (John) Rudack, and Cousin Sandy Wrezenski.
She was predeceased by her parents, sister Darlene, sisters in law Laurie and Kathy Walczak and Louise Gehrke, brother-in-law Leo McKinnon, nieces Jill Franzcek and Jackie Haefner, and nephew Michael Heinrichs.
