Ardell M.C. Schoenick, age 92, of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away Saturday, January 20, 2024, at Wisconsin Rapids Health Services.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 26, 2024, at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kellner, WI. Rev. Matthew Lorfeld will officiate. Burial will be at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services on Friday at the church.
Ardell was born on May 1, 1931, to Edwin and Alexandria (Borke) Popp in Marshfield, WI. She married Donald on November 5, 1956, in Wisconsin Rapids.
Ardell's life was filled with precious moments spent with her family and her passion for her hobbies. Christmas was a cherished time for Ardell, a time when her family all came together in warmth and love. She was also a fan of the Game Show Network, and soap operas, and had a special affection for "Murder She Wrote." But perhaps most memorable of all was her famous chocolate chip cookies, the recipe of which was a well-guarded secret, and the taste of which was an experience in itself. In her youth, Ardell delighted in camping trips with her family to Phillips and Lake Petenwell. With her husband Don, she explored the beautiful landscapes of Wisconsin on motorcycle rides. She was a faithful member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, where she enjoyed cooking and helping serve funeral lunches.
Ardell is survived by her husband Donald, children: Dale (Bonnie Hansen) Schoenick, Dean (Deb) Schoenick, Dennis Schoenick, Jackie (Rob Joosten) Schoenick; grandchildren: Stephanie (Rusty) Roe, Jason Schoenick, Josh (Debbie) Schoenick, Sara (Jesse) Petta; great-grandchildren: Amber, Brooklyn, Callie, Dominic, Evan, Francis, Ally, Hayden, Izzy and Lexi; sister Geraldine Muth and several nieces and nephews.
Ardell is preceded in death by her parents, son Donald Jr., sister Jackie Popp and brother-in-law Al Muth.
The family would like to thank the staff at Wisconsin Rapids Health Services for their support and compassionate care given throughout the years.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Wood County Humane Society.
