Alice Halbersma

Alice R Halbersma of Wisconsin Rapids, age 82, passed away peacefully Thursday, April 24th, 2025, at Our House Memory Care Assisted Living in Wisconsin Rapids after battling many ailments over the past year.

Service will be at 11am on Wednesday, April 30th, 2025, at Faith Reformed Church in Wisconsin Rapids. Rev. Andy Lickel will officiate. Visitation will be from 9am until the time of service at the church on Wednesday.

Alice was born in Vesper, Wisconsin on April 5th, 1943, to Cornelius and Jenny Jansen. She married the love of her life, Jake, on April 13th, 1962. They were blessed with 62 years of marriage. Alice graduated from Lincoln High School in Wisconsin Rapids in 1961. She worked for Consolidated Papers until the birth of her first child then became a homemaker and farm wife.

Alice had many passions in life, including farming, golf, bowling, and mowing her beautiful lawn. She also loved to watch sports, especially high school basketball. She was also very passionate about her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Alice is survived by her children Wanda (Mike) Anderson of Sherry, John (Cathy) Halbersma of Vesper, Wendy (James) Lorence of Nekoosa, and Jerry (Tania) Halbersma of Rudolph. Alice is further survived by her brother James (Nancy) Jansen of Wisconsin Rapids, sister Lois (John) Buteyn of Colorado Springs CO, sister Elsie (Harold) Van Stryland of Pella IA, and brother Harvey (Gail) Jansen of Tucson AZ. Plus 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Alice was preceded in death by her husband Jake, her parents, brother Robert (Dottie) Jansen, brother Marvin Jansen and several in-laws.
