Pearl S. Zeman

Pearl Sophie Zeman, age 93, of Wisconsin Rapids passed away on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at Edgewater Haven Nursing Home where she resided the past four years.

Services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, January 15, 2018 at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids.  Rev. Jonathan Petzold will officiate.  Burial will be at a later date at Forest Hill Cemetery.  Family and friends are invited to a time of visitation from 9:30 A.M. until the time of services on Monday at the funeral home.

Pearl was born June 7, 1924 in the Town of Armenia to Louis and Emma (Kuhn) Marth.  She met Robert P. Zeman at Sherryland Ballroom while he was on leave from World War II.  When Robert returned home from the war, they were married April 21, 1945.

During the war Pearl was employed at Preway Inc. making stoves.  She also worked as a cook in the 70’s at the Labor Temple in Wisconsin Rapids, which was a popular place for weddings.  Pearl belonged to Union Local #315.  In later years, Pearl volunteered at the Lowell Center answering phones a couple times a week.

Pearl dedicated her life to being a homemaker.  She was a wonderful cook and made excellent bread and pies.  Pearl was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and a former member of St. John Lutheran Church in Kellner.

Pearl is survived by her daughter, Sharon Nieman and son, Gerald Zeman both of Wisconsin Rapids; grandchildren: Steven (KC) Nieman, Christopher (Amber) Nieman, Phillip (Brandy) Zeman, Jennifer Goodwin and Jeremy (Ashley) Zeman; great-grandchildren: Brandice, Cale and Jerrett Nieman, Cooper Nieman and Kian Moody, Ashlynn and Mckenzie Goodwin, Joseph and Miah Zeman, Kambrie Zeman, and Shianna Kester; and one great-great-grandson, Nash.  She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; sisters: Esther Spice, Lois King, and Olga Troyanoski; brothers: Arthur and Clarence Marth; and the unexpected death of her oldest son, Kenneth R. Zeman.

Pearl’s family would like to thank the staff of Edgewater Haven for the great care given to her over the years she resided with them.
