Justin G. Herman, CFSP and Roxanne R. Herman, Funeral Directors/Owners

Justin and Roxanne Herman are pleased to have purchased the former Taylor, Vollert and Jennings Funeral Home on February 1, 2012. Justin is the son of Ronald and Elaine (Knuth) Herman.  His family has called the Wisconsin Rapids area home for over five generations.

Justin was born and raised in Wisconsin Rapids. He graduated from Lincoln High School and Worsham College of Mortuary Science in Wheeling, Illinois. Justin has served the Wisconsin Rapids area as a licensed funeral director for over 16 years. He is a Certified Funeral Service Practitioner by the Academy of Professional Funeral Service Practice,  past president of the Wisconsin Valley Funeral Directors Association, and is currently serving a second term on the Wisconsin Funeral Directors Association Board of Directors having been elected by his peers to represent the Wisconsin Valley District at the state level.   Justin is a member of Wisconsin Rapids Noon Rotary, F&AM Lodge 128, Zor Shrine Funsters, and the Heart of Wisconsin Shrine Club.  He also serves on the Board of Directors for the Wisconsin State Firefighters Memorial and the Acacia Foundation of Central Wisconsin.

Roxanne was born and raised in Fifield, Wisconsin.  She graduated from Park Falls High School and moved to Wisconsin Rapids in 1996 and is proud to call Wisconsin Rapids her home.  Roxanne earned a degree in Mortuary Science from DMACC in Iowa in 2015.  She has been with the funeral home since 2012.  Roxanne earned an associates degree in both nursing an paramedic medicine from MSTC in Wisconsin Rapids.  Prior to joining the funeral home staff, she worked as an operating room nurse for several years.  Roxanne proudly served in the Wisconsin Army National Guard for six years as a military police officer.  Roxanne is a member of Elmer Blonien American Legion Post 485 in Rudolph and served as the past adjutant for American Legion Post 9 in Wisconsin Rapids.

Justin and Roxanne live in the town of Grand Rapids with their two children, Makayla and Matthew.  They are active members of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Rapids, the Grand Rapids Lions Club, and Friends of Veterans Helping Veterans.

In their free time, the Herman's enjoy spending precious time together with family.  They love to travel and spend time outdoors hunting, fishing and camping.  Justin and Roxanne also enjoy attending their children's activities and an occasional Packer game.

Martin S. Obsuszt, Apprentice Funeral Director

Martin is a licensed funeral director apprentice with the funeral home. He has 12 years of experience in the funeral industry. His main occupation is as a History teacher in Montello, WI. He and his wife, Karen, a life-long Wisconsin Rapids resident, reside in Wisconsin Rapids with their 3 daughters and are members of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, where Karen serves as a teacher. In his free time, Martin enjoys playing golf, hunting and spending time with his family.

Ashley Kuter, Apprentice Funeral Director

Ashley is a licensed funeral director apprentice with the funeral home.  She is Justin and Roxanne's niece, and the second generation of the Herman family to become involved in the business.  Ashley grew up in Wisconsin Rapids and graduated from Lincoln High School in 2013.  After graduation, Ashley attended Mid-State Technical College where she earned her degree in business management.  She has plans to attend Worsham College of Mortuary Science.  Ashley actively attends Woodlands Church in Wisconsin Rapids.  In her free time, Ashley enjoys spending time with her three horses, barrel racing, and fishing.

Marcus Seevers, Apprentice Funeral Director

Marcus is a licensed funeral director apprentice with the funeral home. He is coming back to the profession after a short hiatus. Marcus is from the rural countryside outside of Arpin and attended Auburndale High School. He later graduated from UW-Stevens Point. Marcus resides in Nekoosa with his wife, Rachel Seevers, who is a school counselor at Nekoosa High School, and their 2 daughters Sophia and Aria.

Marcus enjoys spending time with his family and dogs, playing games with his friends and daughters (board and video), watching sports (especially his Detroit Red Wings), spending time in the great outdoors, traveling, and many other hobbies when he finds the time. He is looking forward to continuing to watch his 2 daughters grow-up and teach them how to ice skate.

Ron and Elaine Herman, Funeral Director Assistants

Ron and Elaine Herman enjoy assisting the staff at the funeral home wherever they are needed.  Ron is retired from Consolidated Papers/Stora-Enso/New Page where he worked in maintenance for over 43 years.  Elaine is retired from Wisconsin Rapids Public Schools where she worked as an exceptional educational needs aid for over 20 years.  Both are lifelong residents of Wisconsin Rapids.

Ron uses his maintenance skills to keep things operational in the funeral home building.  You will find Elaine busy coordinating and serving funeral lunches and life celebration events in the funeral home's luncheon and reception area.

Irvin C. Vollert, Former Owner/ Part-Time Licensed Funeral Director

Irv is a lifelong Wisconsin Rapids resident and former owner and president of Taylor, Vollert and Jennings Funeral Home.

Irv retired from Taylor, Vollert and Jennings Funeral Home on February 1, 2012, after over 45 years of dedicated service to the Wisconsin Rapids community.
